Operations
This part of the Sports Council can cover a multitude of projects that either we do or indeed get asked to be involved in. For example, we organise Perth and Kinross Sports Council’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards and this event is usually held in March and is held in high regard by all. After a year out the Sports Council took on the organisation of the Perth 10k, which is held at the end of August.
This coming year we will be the host nation for the Mini-olympics, this event has now been held twice, the first back in 2004 between Perth, and our twin towns of Aschaffenburg (Germany) and Cognac (France). Last year it was held in Aschaffenburg where we retained the trophy and next year (2010) we will host the event as part of the 800th Anniversary of Perth celebrations and the competing countries are Perth, Aschaffenburg and Bydgoszcz (Poland).
